Dear Florida Chapter Women’s Council Members,

Welcome to a new spectrum of knowledge! 2008 is going to be an exciting year for Women’s Council members as we continue to forge ahead with innovative ways to empower our members with the array of skills and education needed in today’s emerging real estate market. The leadership team is prepared to help our members participate in all the council has to offer and realize value in their participation.

The real estate market has and is changing- and change is necessary to create new opportunities. So we as an organization must meet the challenge of change and be creative and yet sensitive to our members needs. You saw many changes in our committee structure and in our schedule; changes to make our organization stronger and to allow our members the ability to be involved with Florida Association of Realtors and other institutes societies and councils. Those changes were successful, as our attendance at the Mid Year meeting sessions was more than double the average in the last few years! The committee structure, with no overlap, gave each member the ability to be part of leadership development and committee work. The ease of the schedule allowed for interaction and networking among the members; while accomplishing the goals of our state chapter strategic plan.

We are at a point in history like no other! Women have found their seat at the table, the number of first time accomplishments by women is incredible; and we are part of that history. Real estate, the broker, the agent- the entrepreneur – are all getting redefined. There is no better time to be a member; to have the support of education, the bolster of our strong network and the encouragement that is found in no other organization. Our members are themselves are diverse, and recognize that understanding diversity is vital to success. Our members are active in our communities and recognize that involvement brings with it the ability to influence. Our members are the achievers, the real estate professionals relied upon by the public and their peers.
I wish to thank all of you who had a part in the planning, scheduling and set up of the meetings and the installation. The ceremony was beautiful, and I was glad to have so many of you on the dance floor with me till the very last dance!

Looking forward to the balance of the year: our mission, vision, core values and strategic plan help us set goals for our state chapter; goals that will allow us to assist each new member to traverse through and become a multi-faceted entrepreneur.
